There's a Perfection demo disk on Dilwyn's site that contains a runnable exe file.

Maybe that can help?

Re: Minerva question

Hi Martin, Minerva prints strings (and most other arguments as strings (see the sstrg routine in print_asm). It does, however, print characters like newlines and tabs, as well as separating spaces using io_sbyte (through the print_1 routine in print_asm). PRINT "Hello"; Should actually onl...

Re: MAB 8049H P A038 comapible?

Just for completeness:

In case you're searching for a non-Sinclair specific replacement, you can look for the re-programmable (EPROM) version of the 8049 - the 8749. This can be erased with UV light and re-programmed with the QL controller's firmware

Re: Problem with Quill Document

Psion XChange Quill loads the document just fine - Which leads me to assume it's valid. Apparently, something else is wrong with your copy of Quill. Does it work OK with other documents?

Re: Alien Laser when copying

Essentially an audible "bad or changed medium" error. Not quite - after that audible warning, the system will retry - If it doesn't come back with a real "bad or changed medium" then, the retry succeeded and the audible warning can be understood as a thorough reminder to create ...

Re: QL gets HOT

hot is relatively relative {sic}. QLs are known to be a bit on the temperature-inefficient side and it is quite normal they get hot after being switched on for about an hour. As long as you don't burn your fingers on the chips (which starts at about 60°C), you should be fine. All of my QLs are like...

Re: Themes

That program actually seems to want a filename (of a theme file) as a command line argument (like in "EX SiThVi.obj; Themefile_thm") . You most probably have supplied none, which the program found to be a "BAD NAME". So, all fine, works as designed.

Problems printing from QPC to QPCPrint

Gents, before bothering Marcel, who seems to be on vacation: I have some problems on a fairly recent installation of QPC and QPCPrint on a Windows 10 machine: ⋅ SMSQ/E 3.34 ⋅ QPC 4.93 (wonder where I got that from, Marcel's site seems to offer an older version.) ⋅ QPCPr...

Re: QL Float format to C68 float format - sort of...

Evening All, I'm writing a utility - it's a long term project of mine - in C68. For testing I'm using both xtcc on Linux, and compiling the code with gcc as well. I'm needing some code to convert a QL 6 byte floating point to a "normal" floating point both in C68 (native to the QL) and al...
