Well, I always loved the design of Sharp X68000 - and a QL in this kind of package would look awsome

Wasn't the Super QL design a tower? I'll have to grab my "Delete: ..." book to check.

They are lovely machines for gaming. I have my XVI connected to some MIDI boxes, and the games sound absolutely amazing.

Tha Sharp X68000 is hardware-wise way more sophisicated than the QL - With its 7 custom chips it supports screen resolutions up to 1024x1024 and 128 hardware sprites, basically bringing it up to par with early 90's more advanced arcade machines (I'd say it easily outperforms the Amiga and its high-praise chipset). Software-wise, however, it's a bit meager with only some sort of an MSDOS look-and-feel-alike. It's a games machine, a good one, but not necessarily a good Personal Computer.

Hi,

The Sharp X68000 looks a nice machine, though they are very scarce and are usually sought after, resulting in a high price tag .

There maybe more Amiga games available than X68000 games, which may make the better machine not popular.

Oh, there's many games for the machine (the Wiki page shows more than 800 titles - admittedly, still less than for the Amiga, though). Lots of very authentic Arcade ports, but, as it cost you an arm and a leg in Europe originally (the machine was never officially sold outside Japan) - and still does, the machine is quite a rarety here - It was, however, quite popular in Japan.
