As many people asked me if this ql2vga would work with a spectrum 128 ,

Yes it does , but in terrible quality because of un-adapted timing .

here are some screen shots ;

As you can see , it is visible but not as crystal clear as when used with a ql .

Maybe the programmer of the firmware can adapt it for use with the 128 ........

As i am not the programmer of the firmware i can not change anything .

I know the amstrad version and the original sinclair version don't have the same video output , which then needs to be adapted separately.


if a new firmware will be available , i assume the best option is to get a second unit for the 128 .

I got some info regarding the adaptation for a spectrum 128 .

Kindly shared by the designer holmatic .

The problem with the spectrum 128 and the newer amstrad versions , is the presence of an extra brightness signal ( only 3 level ) = only 2 level !! = .

This signal is not implemented in the ql2vga hardware .

The ql2vga software should be able to handle this as part of its design , a reprogramming is then needed .
But a three level hardware detection must be developed to get that signal .


So , not for now .
