Hi,

Just taken my PSU apart, seeing the inside.
I was curious about the condition of elyt cap, actually found two inside,
cannot read the capacity, 300... uF?

A potentiometer covered in white pigment of some sort?
Elyts visually looking good, no leaks apparent.

Cannot tell the wiring applicable to me, also pros cons of these?

Those are 3300uF. I've replaced a few before just because I was 'inside' but I don't think they tend to fail that often. Is the PSU broken?

Not broken, just health inspection.
Do I have a thyristor version or the other, cannot tell?
Also is the thyristor one considered better / worse over the other?

There was a discussion long ago, about the wiring types, as there are two; that I cannot find now.

Many thanks
Tom

As the components used are the same I think you'd have to follow the circuit to see what version you have. I didn't even know there were 2 different types, so if it works and the caps looks good, may as well leave it as it is.
