Tridim - the 3D modelling program

I have found Tridim - the 3D modelling program, but it is copy protected.

This is attached - it can be unzipped and added as a folder to q-emulator.

Can someone remove the copy protection so that it can be added to the Sinclair QL Homepage? Outsoft - do you have a preserved copy of this microdrive / disk (and any of the other missing Pyramide titles)?

Has anyone had any success in getting Tridim to work?

I have been having a go, but without a lot of success so far.

There seems to be a missing 'unnamed' file that a SuperCharged program 'LBYTES'. I created a dummy file to get past that, Then the SuperCharged program does a 'CALL'. I'm not too sure to where (maybe the file it LBYTEd).

The SuperCharged program also has a reference to a file 'MDV1_Image' which I don't think is there either.

So far I have got the program to here. This is where the CALL happens, and the system crashes.

I did wonder if the file called INVISIBLE is the unnamed file...

I wonder if Simone has an original microdrive image?

The SuperCharged program tries to LBYTES a file named 'mdv1_' A device name with no following filename

QDOS does not seem to mind an empty filename, But SMSQ/E does not like it.

I have a vague recollection that it might be the level 2 filing system more than QDOS per se - I might be wrong as it's just an old brain cell firing up. I can't remember exactly why, something to do with some directory information now being stored in the "null filename" perhaps?

Are there any French (I think it's French) speakers than can tell if it's working OK.

I have also attached a Qemulator .mdv file.

Excellent - yes it is French - it would be interesting to get the program translated to English as well (normally you can do this by overwriting the French strings, but just be careful not to change the string length!

I have been having a go at translating the Tridim manual into English.

Here is my first draft.I have not done the graphs yet, and the text is basically as it came out of the translator program, So parts of it read a bit strange in English.

There's a few places where I could not read the original manual (replaced the word with ???). And where the translator program did not seem to understand the French and did not translate it. If any one can help with these bits?

Here's another updated Tridim manual. I have added the graphics, and tidied up the English translation a bit. Although it could do with a some more.

I have also added a French version, that looks a bit better than the original one. (apologizes in advance to any French speakers for my re-typing)

Excellent work - is this now all ready to be added to Dilwyn's site?
