Hi from Switzerland

Hi there,
I'm a new QL user, as I just bought this charming machine and I immediately fell in love with it.
I also have found an old QL User Guide so next steps are finding an external mass storage device (the microdrives are notoriously not so reliable), for example a 3.5" disk drive, a IDE Hard Drive or SD Card Reader. I'm open to suggestions, I'm here to learn...

A QL-SD would be a good starting upgrade but you will need a memory expansion. There are also some new trump card clones coming out of Russia which have extra memory and floppy support.

Thank you vanpeebles for your welcome message and for your advice on choosing a good interface and RAM expansion to my QL. The trump cards are very interesting, I'll keep an eye on those interfaces.
I've been told that the QL-SD card reader needs a good touch to be installed (open the QL, replace the ROM, try not to break the keyboard membrane, properly install the reader, and so on). I don't know if I'm ready for this kind of modification yet.

If the QL is old then it will usually need a new one once opened. Also we have a QL Chat most nights, click on the online chat (next to View your posts) at the top (when logged in).
