Re: Wanted: 5.25" 1.2mb Floppy Drive
Is it cheap? I need to connect it to a PC, so I can write x68000 discs.
Re: Wanted: 5.25" 1.2mb Floppy Drive
I would like to be sure if it's still working. I do have a couple of 5.25 floppy discs (who knows if they are still reliable?) but how to test? Should I search for a very old PC to connect the drive to? Probably also the Trumpcard will not recognise it automatically since it is set for a PC.
I'm open to suggestions

Yes I know, but first I have to find a sufficiently old PC/OS capable of recognising the drive itself!vanpeebles wrote:See if it will format a disk and write some files to it

Ah! I'm hoping the last one I have with floppy support still works!

Re: Wanted: 5.25" 1.2mb Floppy Drive
Hi,
I have some old BBC Micro 5.25" 40/80 Track Floppy Disk Drives, when I get time I will see if they work and can access some of my 5.25" QL Disks.
If I made a 3.5" + 5.25" twin drive combo, in a Black Case, would this be of interest.

I have a BBC set off my B+ but I don't think they do 1.2mb HD discs?

I suggest you to check the BIOS config menu first. You should find something like Advanced -> Floppy configuration. Here you find a list of supported floppy drives, and you must choose 5.1/4 and the correct capacity (if present). Then is necessary that your OS can recognise such kind of drives.vanpeebles wrote:Ah!
