Problem - Microdrive Cartridges

Post by NormanDunbar »

Morning all.

The mdv cartridges you can see attached to this post, are my sole remaining ones. I have qliberator, scrabble, Metacomco C, Pascal and Assembler.

I no longer have floppy backups as has been mentioned elsewhere here.

Is it possible to obtain copies of the software from the preservation project at all? I'd like to keep an accessible copy for old time's sake. Qliberator is ok though, I have that one.

Scrabble has no longer got felt where felt should be! Just the bare spring.

The Metacomco stuff has a ROM, which I hope I still have somewhere, in a box.

I no longer have microdrive drives. I gave my last ones to Rich many years ago.

Cheers,
Norm.

Norman,

At least Metacomco Pascal has been released into the open thanks to an initiative of Urs König. All the files (including the PRL, which is in ROM) are part of QL/E, Urs's QDOSSMSQ distribution. I'd propose you pick it from there.

I used to offer this as a service, but no longer do so because it was only more fuel to the negative feedback about my business on the web.

Sorry Norman

I tried to contact Metacomco but didn't manage to get a response out of them.

Actually it is the Prospero packages which are part of QL/e not Metacomco Pascal so far as I know. :D

Hmm the Prospero Pro-Pascal package is missing from the Sinclair QL Homepage - although Dilwyn added the Pro-Fortran package

I don't have a copy of Pro-pascal and I can't seem to find it in my copy of the Preservation Project.

If anyone can send me a copy (or let me know where to get one) and if we know it can be released like Pro-Fortran I'll gladly add it.

Right - My bad. It's the better compiler anyways ;)

The Prospero programs are part The Distribution from Urs. I believe it is still available.

Dilwyn if you don't want to download the whole Distribution, let me know and I'll put the Pro-Pascal on dropbox for you to download (when I get home).
