My post was rather short because I had just finished (much later than hoped and planned) and had to leave home towards Germany (arrived in the hotel minutes ago after a 580km journey) where I will attend the ejagfest (an ATARI event, very similar to the QL shows. With the only difference that instead of Sinclair machines and derivates it's all ATARI related).

Main change in QL/E is that it comes with brandnew SMSQ/E and SMSQmulator versions (September/October 2016) from Wolfgang Lenerz plus very latest IPNet from Martin Head. And support for the various QL compatible platforms has been improved.

See the testbench I was using to complete the new version.

I forgot, there’s one more Thing...
QL/E can now be fully and easy be configured. After startup of the boot program, during the countdown, simply press ESC (or use the brute force method CTRL+SPACE to BREAK). Then simply enter QLECFG (followed the <ENTER> key) and you have 16 topics to configure in a query/answer type setup. After saving just reboot and here we go. In case you do not like your configuration, you can delete the file QLE_cfg_inf (on WIN1_ or SDC1_ depending of your system) at any time and - after a fresh boot – the default configuration is back. Easy, isn’t it?

I’m back from Germany where after the great ATARI weekend - see my posts in the Google+ blog (link in the message footer) - I attended a Retail Technology Event for my professional live. Will be busy the coming days with both work and life, not much time for the QL. But there was this minute yesterday evening when I fired QL/E on my sons PC and gave 4 instances of QPC2 a go, communicating with each other through Martin Head’s LocalNet.

QL/E v3.15 runs nicely under uQLx 2017, even in standard QL resolution and with JS ROM.

All one has to do is to replace the uqlx.win file with a renamed (to uqlx.win) copy of QLE.win.

Thanks to Graeme, Timothy, Rob and volunteers for bringing uQLx back!

The next update of QL/E is in the making, but already quite a bit behind my original schedule. The number of SMSQmulator and SMSQ/E updates plus the release of uQLx 2017 hit me. Here's a sneak peek of new desktop wallpapers. This time snow birds.

Version 3.16 (Codename "Snow white swan", Edition 1702, last updated 28.02.2017) is out now!
