Weak ribbon cable pins of MDV units
Weak ribbon cable pins of MDV units
Almost everybody knows the infamous weak pins of the microdrives ribbon cable. But is there a straightforward way to replace them with a sort of plug with rigid pins?

I tend to use a strip cut from an a chip socket, insert the cable pins into that strip and then insert the 2 strips into the QL motherboard.
It makes it easier

This is what I do. Turned pin IC sockets. Put the wire into the strip, solder, and then you'll have two rigid rows that are MUCH easier to insert.

Thank you very much Rich and Dave for your suggestions. It's a very useful and effective solution!
