As for release date... it seems that the 'Spectrum Next' is still not out, not even to those who already paid... maybe the 'QL Next' will be faster :D

Like the Q68, the 'Spectrum Next' is also a successor mainboard, using a newly developed system chip for CPU and graphics. For ZX Spectrum, not QL.

Considerung the probably 100-times larger user base of the ZX Spectrum today, it seems to me that the QL does not have to be ashamed with the Q68. ;)

Definately not, SpeccyNext is a big business (although run by fanboys). For QL to raise £700K it would require significantly more investment per person.

On http://qlheaven.blogspot.de/ I just read the concern that only the 1024x768 resolution modes of the Q68 will work with a flat screen monitor, the other resolutions will require a CRT monitor. This is not so!

The Q68 generates a VESA standard 1024x768 signal in all resolutions. For resolutions that are smaller, each pixel will be translated into a group of pixels. For example, one original MODE 8 pixel will become 4 horizontal and 3 vertical pixels large on the VGA output of the Q68.
