Tetroid interfaces hardware info

Post by tetroid »

I start this topic for technical info ( schematic, board layout etc. ).
Because of my hardware page not finished yet.
I think this is may be interesting for some QL users.
I will add new info in future.

I am sorry, schematic in Russian standard.

Would you be willing to post the PAL equations for the Trump Card clone?

Yes, no problem.
I have 1V4 equation only.
Only PAL1 ( 1V4 ) is important, PAL2 ( 2V4 ) is for DRAM only ( difficult and isn't necessary for modern SRAM memory ).

Impressive work! Did you re-engineer the whole GoldCard yourself, just from a piece of hardware?

I re-engineer full copy of Gold card, very small differents ( battary and 5V adapter ).
Other all parts is identical to original ( I use EP1810JC-35, not EP1810LC-35 ).

I try to disassemble the INGOT5 chip contents, but this is manual work, need some time.
After that we can change old EP1810 to modern chip.

Eh, I was hoping you had the 2V4 equations - the circuit seems a bit odd and I was looking forward to figuring out how it works :)

Re GC and EP1810, it may well be easier measuring and then simply making equivalent, rather than completely copied logic. I suspect the DRAM controller part is the difficult one, the rest should not be problem.
