Re: Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

They seem to be 5v only, that is all it states on the label. I have another question about them. I have never used floppies on my QL before. I have powered them tonight using an external PC supply and FLP1_ seems to work ok, reads, writes and formats well. FLP2_ seems to be intermittent on lo...

Re: Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

OK, Update from my last posting. Input winding is definately O/C, output winding I am not too sure and will have to check again tonight. I come to this conclusion as I see that the Floppy only required 5v dc (only states 5v as a supply on the case), therefore the 2 x 9v output windings are in parall...

Re: Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

OK, I have had a look and 1 of the input AND 1 of the output windings are Open Circuit, so I would say the transformer has gone. I am a little confused as I am not sure if this PSU is supposed to supply +5v or +12v as the # floppy drive takes both on its connector! Might lift the regulator and see w...

Re: Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

OK Gents, I had a look around this tonight, unless I am just a useless software engineer, I would say that 1 of the primary winding has gone and 1 of the secondary as they appear to be open circuit. 240v AC going in, nothing out of the transformer. I am assuming it should be 18v, regulated down to 1...

Re: Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

Thanks for the replies gents.

I will get the item apart tonight and get some photo's.

I would prefer to repair, if I can, as I am one of those people who
like to keep things as genuine and possible. Call me sentimental! :P

If that does not work then I will go for a new PSU.

Cheers

Miracle Systems Floppy PSU

Hi there,

I have a Miracle Systems Double Floppy with a built in PSU.

Looks like the PSU has gone, so my question is:

Does anyone have spares of this OR can I get it repaired?

Thanks

Russ
