Not obvious to me why you'd need that.

Re: SD Card Reader

As the SD card is not accessible, I wouldn't see the internal QL version as self-contained. With the QL case closed, one requires a PC and Wifi connection to exchange data. Sure. And what do you use to write/read to/from SD cards? QL and QL and Q68 and Q60. The SD card works as a removable medium b...

Re: SD Card Reader

For the QL, there's also an internal version (again self-contained). As the SD card is not accessible, I wouldn't see the internal QL version as self-contained. With the QL case closed, one requires a PC and Wifi connection to exchange data. Nice for those who prefer remote-controlled retro-computi...

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more

And also this way it works also as a ULA replacement (I mean without the need of a ULA). Can't remember the details of your ever-changing projects, but you seemed to have your own RAM on this one. So I can't see why the board needs to sit in the ULA socket to replace it. RGB and the SYNC signals ar...

Re: SD Card Reader

If you prefer an internal reader and have no interest in a mouse port, then QL-SD is also a nice option.
QL-SD is just no longer made, so you'd need to find it second hand.

Re: FPGA replacment for the ZX8301 ULA and more

If I understand correctly... ...the board uses an add-on at the expansion port space to bring out connectors ...the board does not work with other cards at the expansion port anyway ...there are concerns about internal mounting with lots of socket contacts Which makes me question why it does not sit...

Maybe May 17/18/19... in that case the date for the international QL meeting is perfect. ;)

Re: Q40/Q60

There is a problem with the Q60 VGA video output, which does not give a clear video output in 1024x512 HiColour mode, on a modern LCD monitor This is such a tragedy. At design time, it was simply not foreseeable that flatscreen monitors would no longer have multisync capabilities. I have spent coun...

Re: ql+ prototype rebuild ? possible

I will need the help from you on the forum to do so ( ql emulator on a pi , and a way to get the keyboard connected to that pi , software etc, etc. ) Have you considered QLbase? https://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=52483#p52483 It can connect to a Q68 or (more easily) a Qzero and provides a QL matr...

Re: Q40/Q60

The old QLs are nice, but Q60 is a step from the past to the present, without abandoning the QL "soul". Is this still valid today, where Q68 and derivatives also implement a lot of modernization? The main differences to a Q60 are CPU and graphics speed of course. Reaching 68060 speed by F...
