Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
The oscillator frequency can be 60.0 MHz or 66.0 MHz depending on jumper setting. For the 68060RC50A CPU you apparently had ordered, I would recommend 60.0 MHz.

Re: sQLux v1.0 (The Xmas Turkey)
Is there a bug in the emulator because it looks like if the system ROM image is 48K it doesn't work? Are you aware that uQLx / sQLux are not exactly QL hardware emulators, but make assumptions about the OS? One can not just take any ROM that runs in a QL and expect it will be emulated correctly. I ...

Amazing work! Unfortunately I'm poor in actually playing, but it is very impressive!tofro wrote:(I'm pretty sure I meant "mid January 2022" in my previous post. Thus, I'm only 4 months late...)

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
Another thought: There are two variants of pin headers for Lattice, 5x2 and 8x1. If you chose the latter you'll also be able to update Q68 FPGAs.

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
Do I need a resistor in the Vcc line and a Capacitor between /ispEN and GND? No. You need a decoupling capacitor between VCC and GND. What should a resistor in VCC be good for? /ispEN can be directly connected to GND. I have no further components (except a power LED plus series resistor, which are ...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
As I wrote earlier, I can also program the chips for you. I'm impressed that you invest the time to build a PLCC programming adaptor. One hint if you plan to run the progrtamming software under Windows 10 64 bit: It sometimes happens that the adaptor is not seen although the driver is correctly inst...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
You just need an older version of the programming software which was and is free of charge. For example this one, but you could also use the programmer included in ispLever or probably early Diamond versions. https://www.latticesemi.com/view_document?document_id=8129 Have yet to register to gain ac...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
Why not just use the programmer I had linked above? You don't need ispLever (although the builtin programmer should also program the ispLSI chips).Derek_Stewart wrote:I have downloaded ispLEVER v5, v6 v7, v8 to see which will work, with the ispLSI1016.

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
But I have found, ispLever v1.8 on Archive.org: https://archive.org/details/ispLEVER_Classic_Base_1_8 Wrong. I already tried to end this confusion, but here we go again: "ispLever Classic" is not "ispLever". The latter one still runs with free license. And both are not needed to...

Re: Upgrading Q40 to 68060 CPU
ispLEVER Classic for programming legacy devices, for which a license (no longer free) could be obtained. For what would you want the development tools? You just need an older version of the programming software which was and is free of charge. For example this one, but you could also use the progra...
