Re: Returning values from a basic extension function

Hi Daniel! As well as those terrific examples already cited, getting a good grasp of how the QDOS Maths-stack (usually referred to as the 'RI' stack) needs to be cared-for is well worth the study. Of all the references I've trawled in the past, I found Mr Dunbar's essay on the Maths stack to be the ...

Re: HAL equations / JED for use in a GAL chip

Hi Tetroid! I was intrigued by your recommendation: For other QL PCB versions - capacitor 47 pF between pin 4 ( DSMCL ) of PAL chip and ground ). Out of interest, is the capcitor to effectively insert a delay before the GAL detects DSMC, or else just to reduce any noise causing it to falsely trigger...

Re: BT Plugs for Joystick and Serial

Hi Chr$ and Ruptor! Excellent. That is quite expensive though, isn't it (I feel). But with limited availability I suppose they can charge what they like. Yes, expensive for what they are - one of the reasons I shared the details was the possibility that, if we as a community (via one of our dedicate...

Re: BT Plugs for Joystick and Serial

Hi everyone! I recently trawled the web looking for both these two BT-style plugs and found a reasonable-cost supplier of both. I myself ordered a small batch of the QL Serial type (BT-631W) and inquired of the same supplier whether they could source the Joystick variety (BT-630W), which wasn't show...

Re: Hey, y'all.

Hi everyone With reference to Derek's comment re Network timing on QXL, should a faster CPU be installed... This would have problems with the QL Network, as it needs accurate speed timings, ... The NET driver included with SMSQE for QXL (so called 'Variable clock' version) is actually highly configu...

Re: QDOS/SMSQE PRINT Procedure Whitespace issue

Hi there. Just wondering what range of values the two parameter strings font_flg$ & margin$ could take in your PRINT statement: PRINT#outpipech%,font_flg$&margin$&txt$ Specifically, could either string contain a CHR$10 that would upset the INPUT at the other end of the pipe? Whilst I can...

Re: QNET to USB adapter

Hiya Chr$ So how did that come along Martyn, if/when you see this? I think something along those lines would be a fantastic new product. Still moving along, but distracted by many other projects - and yes, Peter's Q-zero offers an alternative approach that shows a lot of promise :-) As of today, usi...

Re: Issue 6 VM12 & resistors confusion

Hi Ruptor I don't recall if you ever checked/replaced the ZX8302 - bear in mind that any comms with the IPC (and this the keyboard) must flow through the 8302 first. One clue, when using Minerva, is whether you get a consistent 'time/date' shown after repeated pressing of Reset - it'll be a nonsense...

Re: Boot Q68 without monitor and keyboard

As far as I recall, the Q68 start-up code will complain and stall if a mouse is plugged in to the KB port (i.e. in to the wrong socket in the splitter), so you are stuck with needing a KB...

Perhaps Peter G will know of a work-around?

Re: Boot Q68 without monitor and keyboard

Hi afx

I believe that the PS/2 KB must be present to allow the Q68 to boot, but no monitor need be attached.
