That makes the D-Sub hood more expensive than the converter ;) Are you doing it without a carrier PCB?

Re: Q68 direct sector access

Im trying to change the internal Qdos name of a QL hard drive. Use a hex editor to change the string at offset 6 in the image file. How does one do direct sector access on a Q68 QLWA virtual disk? It is probably not implemented yet. The best would be to ask Wolfgang on ql-users. Not a hardware issu...

Re: PiStorm

Remember that it would have to have a custom PCB which adds multiplexing onto an 8 bit bus. As mentioned earlier, I meant a redesigned QL PiStorm board. Which would of course have an 8 bit bus. Not something using the Amiga PCB. But a smaller form factor isn't needed for the initial prototype. That...

Re: PiStorm

Has anyone considered ColdFire? (I know Nasta has..) That the very first chip in the Coldfire line but no actual Coldfire CPU. It is a 68EC40 CPU with multiplexed bus. Nice chip, but not if you want to be much faster than a 68060. Some variants can reportedly be overclocked to 300MHz. You lose a lo...

There are several options which fit, the nicest being a board for the CM4.

Re: PiStorm

PiStorm might have quite a bit more relevance on the Amiga that brings a lot of custom chipware that's so deeply embedded in the system that you will definitely want to preserve so it still stays "an Amiga". The QL, well not so much. I think that is the essential difference. Also the Amig...

Re: PiStorm

Stupid question, but how is an emulated processor on a real QL going to be better than an emulated processor in sQLux or similar? Since the emulated Io is superior to genuine IO in every way, couldn't we just make a QL-fitting carrier board for a CM4 for the QL case? Had a similar thought: Effectiv...

Please keep us updated. But remember PiStorm ist not PiStorm. We need to look at the EMU68 emulation, Musashi is too slow.

Re: Q40/Q60

Good luck with the display... they seem to use varying panels.
By the way, I noticed the QL-typical white/red transitions looked sharper from VGA signal than from HDMI.

Re: PiStorm

Buffee is some super vapourware, its been going a decade and no-one has seen anything! Thanks for speaking more frankly than me. ;) Apollo core AFAIK does not implement TAS instruction, and I think QL software was apparently fond of that instruction! Thanks for the info. And that's most likely not ...
