I looked up original, from 2014 : http://www.technoblogy.com/show?QBB
I agree, I would use higher impedance speaker and/or resistor in series with electrolytic capacitor.

Re: Hermes status
AFAIK only early 8748 were 6MHz (25v & 23v programming). Intel D8748H/D8749H are HMOS 11MHz (21v & 18v programming). Derek posted appropriate datasheet earlier : https://www.qlforum.co.uk/download/file.php?id=4597 PS. Also site page says: Up to 1.35 us Instruction Cycle (which is 11MHz /3 /5 )

Ha! In the last few minutes the page at jotrin is flagging it as a 'HOT' item (though still 1011 remain).RWAP wrote:Has anyone tried this one:

1011 in stock at the moment according to that website. We could maybe place a bulk order.

Re: Hermes status
Damn! I could potentially have picked up thousands of these back in the 1990's. BT used 8749 as controller on their 30-channel PCM cards. Just before I left I scavenged a dozen of the cards thrown in a skip. They also used Ferranti ULAs - never found any info on them though. May be worth having a po...

Nice, I have a few ATtiny85 in a drawer doing nothing
Perhaps add another on a 7 second delay to give an authentic 'splice crunch through tape head'

Re: How to use on Mister floppy games via qxl.win
If Qemulator has no WIN device (or not implemented as all other systems) it probably would reject WIN_USE.
But if Mister has WIN device it should be OK with WIN_USE

Re: How to use on Mister floppy games via qxl.win
Does WIN_USE FLP command work ? If it does then it means any reference to FLP automatically looks at WIN. Use WIN_USE without any name to reset things. You should then be able to run each game by running its Basic boot file: LRUN flp1_cuthbert_boot etc All references to FLP within the boot file (or ...

Re: Scaling an entire screen
Casio vs Sinclair QL. I actually learned to play the tune while entering the sheet music on the QL :D https://vimeo.com/614109979 Nice, pitch sounded correct (to my ear at least). There is a simple MIDI device over NET in post here (https://www.qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1587&hilit=q...
Re: CAPSLED
What is the purpose of bending Pin 23 out?. Since both pin 23 & 24 are interrupt lines to CPU I also bent out other pin (it may have also been used on QL where I used a 74148 priority encoder to use level 5 interrupt). IIRC Hermes uses interrupt generated within ZX8302 from activity on COMDATA/...
Re: CAPSLED
It's a bit cruel, a PCB would be nice
and while I had my cheapo camera out...
Green LED fits nicely even in Schon keyboard case.
