Re: Today I Received...
Thanks, that shows a change in wiring from mine. That diagram shows five resistors, whereas on the one they supplied me only 4 resistors, there is no resistor between the orange cable and pin 16. I dimly remember that they changed the cable to fix a problem with SGC, that change might be related to...

Re: Today I Received...
Well, given up with the Simple Video Scalar and conclude it doesn't work with QL. Tried all the different wirings, even used the wiring the late Lee Privett/Mr Navigator used when he published the article about it. The Simple Video Scalar device works with everything else such as DVD players attache...

SMSQ/E and SMSQmulator
As Wolfgang isn't on this list AFAIK, I thought I'd copy his emails from the ql-users mailing list to here as a bit of software news. SMSQ/E 3.35 SMSQ/E 3.35 is out now (wlenerz.com/smsqe). The sources for the revised QL-SD drivers from Marcel Kilgus are in there now. There are also some bugfixes, i...

Re: EasyPTR APPMAN help
Well, true to form this was my mistake. $$asmb=name,0,60 does work. As the QLiberator manual clearly states, the extension (in this case APPA0) must be loaded when compiled. However, I had QSAVE'd before loading it and compiling it. I always save code using QSAVE so never use the LIBERATE name, str...

Re: Help with Composite out
Hi, I have a Retroshack SCART cable for the QL, which uses the QL RGB connections, it gives a nice display on a SCART based TV, but in monitor mode there are columns missing due the tge QL overscan. I thought a SCART to HDMI converter would do tge job, but I have tried many of these SCART2HDMI conv...

Re: Today I Received...
Retro Computer Shack only operate between Thursday 2pm and Sunday 5pm - the wiring for the QL Scart cable is shown here https://www.retrocomputershack.com/SCART-DESIGNS/Sinclair-QL/index.html Thanks, that shows a change in wiring from mine. That diagram shows five resistors, whereas on the one they...

Re: Today I Received...
Although I might add that it looks like the wiring of the Retro Computer Shack QL-SCART cable is suspect, in that SCART pin 16 should go to QL pin 4 (Composite Synch) not QL pin 1 (composite PAL) according to most wirings I've seen, so when I get a chance a quick desoldering of the orange lead in th...

Re: Today I Received...
Thanks Martin. That's six different wiring versions for a QL SCART cable I've seen now in all. SCART is a nightmare to get right. Retro Computer Shack, whose cable I use with TV, are on holiday according to their eBay store, so I can't follow up with them. I've sent a help request to JS Technology t...

Re: Today I Received...
Dilwyn, the two Composite lines (20-->4, 16-->1) of your SCART cable seem to be weird - Composite Video is connected to "RGB Status" [which is normally used to tell the TV that "RGB is valid"] and Composite sync is connected to the composite video signal - Maybe our TV didn't us...

Re: Today I Received...
...a JS Technology Ltd Simple Video Scalar (QL version). Here are some pictures: <snip> I specifically asked for the QL version, and the Sales Receipt is marked "QL Firmware" and "Spec B", although I don't know what the differences (if any) are with the original version. Their w...
