Re: a DIY home build project...

An exciting project. The propeller won't need to do QLNET because that's fully implemented in the 8302. "Fully implemented" is a nice expression for a single 1-bit port. Tobias On the QL, two 1-bit ports, one input and one output. ;) To do it with one tristate bidirectional port (and no t...

Re: Mice and mouse queues...

How can non-SMSQ/E pointer environment run on Atari? http://qlwiki.qlforum.co.uk/doku.php?id=qlwiki:stql_emulator There were QL emulators for Atari long before the development of SMSQ/E. I'd even venture the guess that SMS2 and subsequently SMSQ/E were developed on an Atari. ...which may explain wh...

Re: Mice and mouse queues...

The pointer environment is the central driver. It already comes with the most common mouse drivers built in, but there are also external ones (like SERMouse). I wonder about the "s" in drivers. Which mice except QIMI does the PE support? (Not talking SMSQ/E of course.) Sandy SuperQBoard, ...

Re: 8302<>8049 communications...

There are a number of small FPGA boards arround that could probably fill the role of the ZX8302/8049 as a combo and be plug in compatible to the 8302 socket. Examples would be welcome! I don't know any available FPGA board with 5V tolerance. Let alone a board which is small enough to plug into that...

Re: Maximum effective BAUD with superHermes and unexpanded QL

Hi, SuperHermes was advertised with "Use the QL for high speed BBS (V34 at 57600bps)". Since the QL can handle similar rates with NET, I would have hoped this throughput is realistic. Looks like too much interrupt handling overhead for the 68008. Future SER card projects may want to minimi...

Re: ROMable SMSQ/E

This can't work because the high ROM addresses are interpreted as negative numbers by BASIC. Doesn't matter, when transformed back into a 32-bit int address the bits look the same. Not therefore. It mattered because the program stopped with error on high addresses. But with the correct list start, ...
