Re: Gold Card / Super Gold Card ROM patching...

Hi, Strictly speaking the ROM is copied to the RAM and occupies the same address space it would have done in a standard QL, so the vectors could all still be valid... So if you are correct, to get SMSQ/E working on a BBQL with ram expansion, the copy to ram should disabled. Somehow I think it is not...

Re: TerribleFire accelerator for the QL accelerator card

Hi, Probably the best screen mode would DISP_MODE 6, a medium resolution of 512x384 with hi-colours. This being the fastest hi-colour mode. DISP_MODE 1 is the best for standard QL software. I was running ACT in DISP_MODE 6, everything in the top of the screen. Pity Steve Sutton was not around, I bou...

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Hi Fabrizo, I am glad you like the Q68 and it works with your setup. The SMSQ/E with supplied was a full release of SMSQ/E, Wolfgang released an updated version of SMSQ/E on 10/12/2017. There was some bug fixes, but the operating works the same. I fid update the applications software to include Q-Do...

Re: OPL2 (3 ?) sound for your QL through parallel port

Received message from seller : Hi Zarchos, Thanks, and that would be great ! Have a look at this repository : https://github.com/pdewacht/adlipt for all code. good luck ! Serge I have already downloaded the C source code for the driver. As I said, the code is x86 specific. But could be converted to...

Re: OPL2 (3 ?) sound for your QL through parallel port

It uses a 6502 to Z80 emulator. Is there a 6502 to 68008 emulator available on the QL ? In the old days, in 1990s, I was writing a include file for QMAC assembler that would assemble 6502 OP Codes. I never really finished it. I was wondering recently, if a Turbo compiled 6502 emulator would be as f...

Re: OPL2 (3 ?) sound for your QL through parallel port

HI, I have ordered the OPL2LPT kit. Should be able to solder this no problems at all. I have a few Ataris: TT-030, Mega STE with QVME, Mega ST, STFM, but would use it on a Q60. I have downloaded the source code for the ADLIB driver, which is written in C with x86 assembler instructions. I suppose th...

Re: Installing SMSQ/E

I had a quick try yesterday. There is barely enough memory to load it into. And when you CALL it, Qemulator throws up an error message. So if SMSQ/E needs to write to the ROM area. Does that mean that you cannot run SMSQ/E on a standard QL. Only on Gold cards? HI Martin, There is a version of SMSQ/...

Re: OPL2 (3 ?) sound for your QL through parallel port

Hi Xavier, I watched the video, the sound card sounds really good. But there are only the Q40/60, Supergold Card with direct parallel ports. QPC2 can access the PC LPT port, so if the driver is set up correctly may work. The Supergold card parallel port is not bi-directional, but that sound not be a...

Re: TerribleFire accelerator for the QL accelerator card

According to the Aurora manual: • The system might wait slightly longer at startup (this is mostly undetectable) trying to find the microdrives, which have become history. So although it still used the ZX8302 chip, it didn't have any connectors for the Microdrives. Hi, I forgot about that feature. ...

Re: TerribleFire accelerator for the QL accelerator card

Aurora can't live without either a GC or SGC as CPU/memory board and is basically a "combined Super-I/O and Graphics Card for GC or SGC". Wording to-the-point ;) Off-topic again, but do you remember if the Aurora still supported microdrives? Hi, The Aurora has no microdrive connections on...
