Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

Hi Dave, thanks for the explanation. I reckon that would be worth having - as long as installation is not too complicated ?

I never have been any good at the hardware front. I just about managed to change the keyboard membrane without killing my bbql, but that's the limit of my tinkering skills.

Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

Happy 50th!

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is a buck? And where on / in a QL does it go. Is soldering involved?

Re: I wonder how quiet it will be in here today!

I was the designated driver last night so no hangover for me either. :)

Happy new year one and all.

Things I'm looking forward to this year: a Q68 for my 50th birthday . World peace. Boundless cheap safe energy via cold fusion.

Well, one out of three will do ;)

Yes, that looks right - positive polarity in the centre/inside (curiously referred to as the 'tip') of the 2.1mm (inner diameter) x 5.5mm (outer) barrel at 5V/1A.

Good luck.

Thank you! :)

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Hi Sparrowhawk As regards power-supply - I am using a regular USB-type 'wall-wart' supply that can supply up to 1A, but I hacked the mini-USB end off and soldered-on the 2.1mm plug (+5V to the inner conductor) - which are pretty standard and easy to get a-hold of. Re: Sparrowhawk

I appear to have become a Trump Card at some stage in the proceedings. I must protest, I always used a Sandy SuperQBoard! :D

I just gazed up at the site banner and eek! it's been 7 years since the forums started?! How time flies.

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

+1 to a Dummy's guide. I am a dummy. My wife tells me so, and she's never wrong ;) Although I'm also very much a BB QLer (although via emulation mostly nowadays), I am nonetheless very keen to see what the new/advanced features are too, so I do appreciate the fact that there will be plenty on the pr...
