Re: Minerva Rom burning

Depending on board version you need to change a jumper or dead insect a 74LS00 (or equiv NOT gate) and re-route a couple of pins to use an EPROM. Even for 64k Minerva+TK2

Re: Q68 Notice 3 - Update

Considerung the probably 100-times larger user base of the ZX Spectrum today, it seems to me that the QL does not have to be ashamed with the Q68. ;) Definately not, SpeccyNext is a big business (although run by fanboys). For QL to raise £700K it would require significantly more investment per pers...

Re: A guide to programming the Sinclair QL

but I write PC C, not QL C Its the same language, I assume you mean you use a lot of Windows specific functions when your on a PC, as I've previously discussed porting *nix CLI stuff to QL is mostly easy. GFX stuff is fairly easy as long as original program was decently written and separates the ou...

Re: A guide to programming the Sinclair QL

because C code is long-winded and not very readable

Being a fulltime C coder I have to disagree, only having 20 keywords makes C nice and easy to understand. There are reasons C is the no1 language in the world ;-)

Re: A guide to programming the Sinclair QL

Hi, I can see one problem porting C programs to QLs. C language allows you to construct code in a huge number of ways. For example just consider FOR loops : Converting C FOR loops to QL Basic FOR loops would probably need to be done by hand, as I doubt whether software could do it, there being just...
