Re: QConnect Software

I'd guess whoever has the original Tandata hardware has the right to use the software, as it was never sold separately to my knowledge. I would also guess whoever hasn't, would obviously have not much use for it. I'd guess owning the hardware is enough proof of purchase, at least for the original T...

Re: Q68 Order Process

I used DPD for Zarchos Q68 parcel. Which seemed to track nicely. I find DPD working very well. But there has been comments that DPD is not good. My parcel was handled by DPD once it got into NL and tracked very nicely, I could even redirect it to a nearby pickup point when I was not at home at the ...

Re: Microperipherals Floppy Interface R/W

To my knowledge, all of the contemporary disk interfaces (and especially the MP interface, as it was also available in a sinclair-re-labled version as "the official" Sinclair disk system) use the same standard floppy disk format. This shouldn't be a problem. The "non-standard" r...

Re: Q68 serial port

Update: On the Q68's TxD line I measured about -5V when not doing anything ('Mark' level) so it's not quite at official RS-232 levels but still within specs. I guess the RxD line will be compatible with +/- 12V too so it's probably safe to connect a modem. It's still a pity that it doesn't support D...

Re: Q68 serial port

Thank you Derek for the information. I know there is no +12V pin on the Q68 serial connector. But my question was about the signal themselves on the Rx and Tx lines. The RS-232 standard stipulate (from memory) that a bit value of zero is transmitted with a volage anywhere from -3 volts to -12 volts...

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

I've made some photos of my Q68 - both cased and uncased - which can be viewed here . I just notice the Minerva picture ;) Is it a standard 1.97 ROM? Yes it's 1.97. It boots, but freezes after the F1/F2 timeout. I guess because the 8049 isn't emulated by the hardware? This probably will need a rewr...

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Great! Thanks for sharing! I don't even case my boards because I like the looks of the PCB. :D He he... I remember back in the '90s there were worries about CE certification requirements regarding RF radiation which would prevent small companies like Miracle from making more peripherals for the QL ...

(Don't worry - it's back in its case now and still working :) )
