Minerva4Q68 SD Card Setup

I wanted to test Minerva4Q68 but could not create a working SD card. My 32 GByte SD card is compatible with Q68. I have tested it with Q68_SMSQ.WIN from the original Q68 SD card (see below). The problem is, that the Q68_??ROM.SYS files are >96 KByte and cannot be loaded into the ROM area. Therefore ...

Re: Q68 support thread

Hi Derek, I am sorry that you are having problems with the Q68 SD Card partitioning. There are no problems with the SD cards, they are working perfectly. I just accidentially deleted (formatted) one of them and have to recreate it. I created the SD Card partitioning system on a Linux machine with GP...

Re: Q68 support thread

SD Card Format from SD Association not really suitable for C68 I have tried the newest version from https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/sd-memory-card-formatter-for-windows-download and the one delivered on the SD card (on the FAT partition) of Q68. Both always format the whole SD card, even ...

Mine fortunately not (98 and 99 are different and 142 and 143 are also different).

@Derek: Check your E-Mail (the one where you announced to me the sending of Q68). All 4 pages are different (CLR..., FILENO, STCI..., STCI... or so).

Regards

Ah! Good point!

Re: Q68 support thread

(and I'm not even talking about the Pointer Interface which is included in SMSQ_E but has to be loaded separately with Minerva, though I believe it supports higher resolutions too but only in 4 or 8 colour mode) This is correct, I have had it running on my PC with 1024x768, but only in 4 colors. Un...

Re: Q68 support thread

And also you can run it off any device if you use a hex editor to change mdv1_ to the device of your choice in the exe file! Yup, I think this is, what I have had done cause I'm nearly sure, that I started Vroom from floppy. When it runs on Q68, this means it is really highly compatible to the BBQL...

Re: Q68 support thread

I have VROOM on microdrive, but I will need to make a MDV image, convert to MDI can run on the Q68 from a FAT partition. Maybe you could try VROOM on the Q68, or I will get to it later on. I'm nearly sure, that I have had Vroom (I have had buyed this game!) running from Floppy. Just searched my old...

Joystick Ports Missing

Would it be possible to add (configure/ DIY ) Ql-compatible joystick-ports to the Q68? These are just some lines and columns of the keyboard matrix (I know, as I have had built my full keyboard myself - 100% compatible!). I think, this may be important for original operating systems, when playing ol...

Re: Q68 support thread

uqlx installs a virtual driver in Xscreen.c/init_xscreen() function to handle the bigger than QL screen modes! Ah, thank you! Didn't know that. Well it's not so important. For normal work I will of course use SMSQ/E. I will use other QL-ROMs just for special software, which doesn't run on SMSQ/E, e...
