Re: Enable Caps Lock from SuperBASIC

Well, the simplest case of workaround is simply uppercasing the input string and re-printing it. I think that is what you should do if you want upper-case input only. On a multi-tasking machine that only has one caps lock state, I would actually consider it bad behavior of an application to hog the...

Re: Enable Caps Lock from SuperBASIC

<> QPC2 cant change the Windoze caps lock status. No work-around, Im afraid. That being said, depending on your program, you might be able to make a simple per-program workaround ;) Pressing the caps lock key is detectable with KEYROW, so you could maintain a local caps lock variable of your own an...

Re: Enable Caps Lock from SuperBASIC

You can on a Black Box QL with a POKE_W 163976,65280 to turn Caps Lock on, and POKE_W 163976,0 to turn it off. However it does not work in QPC2. I'd also like to know a way of doing it in QPC2. or POKE_W!! $88, -256/0 on SMSQ/E for caps lock on/off. As you say, it doesnt work on QPC2. This is becau...

Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

So, I'll tell y'all about it now, and post a pic of an assembled unit this evening or tomorrow. This is a serial WiFi dongle that works with Q68, Q40 or Q60. <> Sounds awesome! Well done, and good luck with that! Now we need some software to take advantage of it! My intent is to develop a fast seri...

Re: QL 34th Anniversary new hardware.

Funny thing. After calling them, and being told "the diesel gelled in the tanks, we can't drive" I went out to my diesel Passat and it started right up. It said 15F on the dash (-9.5C to you metric folks out there!) so it is cold, but it started. And now it has updated that it was scanned...

Re: ROMable SMSQ/E

Currently SMSQ/E (3.32) varies in size from 223k (gold8) to 316k (QPC2) The Q68 version is the second largest at 304k. Of course, not all modules are loaded on all systems, and some are optional across the board (eg the Recent Thing) and could be eliminated altogether. With a bit of effort I suspect...

Re: I wonder how quiet it will be in here today!

It's very quiet in here this morning, and last night too for some reason. :D Anyone got a hangover? I haven't! That's something I inherited from my dad, no hangovers. (Is there a smilie for 'smug b'stard?' ;) Happy new year all, let's make it a great one. Cheers, Norm. Im so grateful for my hangove...

Re: Q68 serial port

Hi, Can you not copy all your data into a QXL.WIN file and transfer the file to a SD Card via PC or QPC2. To answer that part: I don't have a PC, being a mac user. So for all those years QLers where playing with QPC, I was not. I was developing directly on the SGC QL. <> Just in case you are not aw...

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

A similiar cable on eBay is £0.99, but a 5v 1A power supply is required. Which could cost £2 Surely, most people already have a couple of those PSUs by now ;) Also if a USB to power cable is used, there is a chance that someone will power the Q68 from PC USB port. Which work, but might over power t...

Re: Q68 New users and general usage thread

Hi, I could of supplied a Q68 power supply, but only a UK plug style. So I took the decision not supply a power supply maybe this was a mistake, but I would have cater for EU, US, non-EU. A number of USB PSU/Chargers (the smart ones!) come with a detachable cable. Could you just supply such a cable...
