Re: Winny problem

If I want to replace the internal hard drive which model I need? I see that the Winny mount a 3,5" Hard Drive and not a 5,25" as I suppose (not the ST-506/ST-412). I need to repair another one that I found. Thanks a lot. Best regards. Miracle hard drive supports four different drive types...

Re: QL Eprom programmer

Hi, The Elektor Gal Programmer was featured in Elektor 1992 May, with updates in Elektor 1993 June, featuring the Amiga AmiBURN and AmiGAL software. The programmer looks to be connected to the parallel port on a PC and Amiga. I am sure the Amiga people will have a copy of the software. Ah yes, I di...

Re: QL Eprom programmer

I've got schematics, layout, code etc. for Jochen Hassler's QL Eprommer II (the one shown at the bottom of my post here https://www.kilgus.net/2017/03/05/german-minerva-rom/ ). It can do GALS using adapter boards and had a pretty PE GUI. BBQL only of course. If there's enough interest I can dig the...

Re: Maximum effective BAUD with superHermes and unexpanded QL

Look at Minerva/Hermes documentation, it is the suggested fix to improve rate. IIRC the problem is the default action (POKE!!53,192) causes unnecessary repeat polling of IPC after it had just taken data (see source). update: Minerva source (M_inc_pc extract) relevant to the problem which causes disk...

Re: Tetroid Disk Interface - FORMAT issue

Here's a fixed version of Trump card V2 ROM with working FORMAT RAMn_MDVn.

I've only tested it on my Trump card V1 hardware but it should be OK since the problem was with routine converting the MDV sector dump to RAM driver filing format (level 2).

Re: Why did Sinclair hate National Semiconductor?

My old Elektor data book remarks the Hitachi 245 has Schmitt inputs, which make them suitable for noisy signals.

Re: Tetroid Disk Interface - FORMAT issue

OK, that makes sense. Err... should have qualified that, might have been seen as impolite  I wasn't sure if it was a hardware problem, that it was 2.17c made sense. I've had a look and the associated MDV routines in 1.36 and 2.17 are identical. The RAM driver code is completely different, 2.1...

Re: Tetroid Disk Interface - FORMAT issue

OK, that makes sense. I have created source files from TC 1.31+ and TC2.17c so it'll be interesting to see what has changed to the RAM driver to upset FORMAT ram1_mdv1. That it at least goes through the motions is promising. Unfortunately my TC machine has long since had its microdrives removed and ...
