Re: Random hardware ideas!

Whereas DS1374C uses I2C link, with bonus of integrated crystal and charger, making it much simpler. Downside, only appears to be available from recognised suppliers (for the price of P/P I could buy several MM58724C off ebay). There is a cheaper version for external crystal, the DS1374U. The versi...

Re: Random hardware ideas!

More random thoughts (I think you may have opened a Pandora's box Dave): Could do with a prototyping PCB for ROM port, if enough are produced it could help with cheap DIY projects (soundchip, etc). Maybe with a fixed PAL to provide simple I/O facility to prototyping area (ie. using address lines for...

Qimi at $1BF9C/$1BFBC/$1BFBE. See Dilwyn's site for my Qimi SCR (also PNG).

Dave wrote: I have little idea how multiple cards are addressed. The old way (expansion slots at $C0000-$100000) was to access your I/O relative to the base of card (ie. EPROM). Sometimes by also using next 16K slot for I/O, or by using just a single slot and overlaying end of 16K EPROM space with ...

*** I prepared this before visit to library for internet access, so excuse me if I repeat any of the above (I'll read and digest it later) Peter wrote: Planned start address is $1D000 for the CP2200 ethernet controller chip select, and $1D800 for the external chip select. Re: Listing unset variables

There is an error in the name initialisation list: Ha, I usually do it correctly. It was only a quick one (sic) :!: It would be pretty dire if the one byte made the difference. There are other issues with it that I have yet to solve. It also lists PROC/FN parameter names (if not set already as a se...

Derek_Stewart wrote:The addition of a SA0199 sounds interesting, do you have any details or photographs.

It was DIY, added with a lot of other things. The SAA1099 actually has DTACK output so is easy to interface directly. Mine was on 6800 bus E/VPAL (6522, 6850 etc)

Listing unset variables

TYPO_LIST lists all unset variables in current SBASIC name table (and all the accumulated typing garbage if used before NEW or LRUN) Just discovered any extensions LRESPR'd into daughter SBASIC disappear if you subsequently load a Basic program. They need to be LRESPR'd after the load. NEW also kill...

Re: Random hardware ideas!

Re TK2 and RTC on ROMport Best to forget using MM58274C, the SGC/GC uses a triple lock to prevent corruption (write to 3 addresses each and every time you need to write to a register). Whereas DS1374C uses I2C link, with bonus of integrated crystal and charger, making it much simpler. Downside, only...

Re: Announcement - new QL Interface

(I used the MG ROM on this QL simply because I found the Network receiving by Minerva + TkII problematic in my setup... Funny you should say that, I had similar trouble when I replaced Net physical layer with parallel 8 bit link (8255 PIOs back to back). Got a P_ device working upto 65Kbytes/sec be...
